Sharing your bot is vital to increasing your reach. Use the link generator to share your bot on social media, in your weekly newsletter, on your website, or anywhere else that your audience might see it.

How does the link generator work?

Instead of sharing a single link across all of your different web pages and channels, Bulletin lets you create an infinite number of links, each with a unique variable. Once a user clicks on a link to onboard the bot, the variable at the end of the link is passed to the bot. Bulletin then uses that variable to help your company classify and understand where your users come from.

For example, let's say that you built a Telegram bot. Your bot's original link is You want to publish the link in different places and understand how many users onboard from each place. Using Bulletin's link generator, you could create the following links:

With your unique links, you can measure the effectiveness of campaigns, and see which source is driving the most subscribers to your bot.

How can I generate my own unique links?

To generate your own trackable links, follow the steps listed below:

Step 1: Select the 'Share' feature

Start by clicking on the 'Share' button in the upper-right corner of your dashboard. You will be taken to the link generator page.

If you have already set up your bot on both Telegram and Facebook Messenger, you will see a single link for each on this page.

Step 2: Click on 'Create link' to add a new link

To create a new link, click on the blue button in the upper right-hand corner. Here, you will be prompted to name your link and designate a code - or variable - that will appear at the end of the link.

Step 3: Enter the link name and code

Here's what to consider when creating the link name and code:

  • Name - Give your link an explicit name that speaks to what you are tracking and where. Only you and your teammates will be able to see the link name.
  • Code - The code is a variable that you make up depending on your needs. It can be a number, or it can be text. The code will be visible at the end of your bot link, meaning that your audience will be able to see it.

While a text code is more transparent, some businesses prefer using a numeric code. With a numeric code, users are less likely to understand what are you tracking.

Once you have decided on your link name and code, hit the 'Save' button. A new Telegram and/or Facebook link will appear in the list on the link generator page. Repeat this process to create as many links as you'd like.

Step 4: Share your links

Copy your links and paste them in their corresponding locations. Here are some suggestions for where you might want to put your links:

  • Website home page
  • Blog post
  • Twitter
  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • Email campaign
  • Newsletter
  • Social media ads
  • Facebook Messenger ads
  • Web page footer

Step 5: Track your referral metrics

Click on the 'Metrics' tab in the upper left-hand corner of the screen to access your referral metrics. Then, click on 'Profile.'

Your traffic source graph will appear at the bottom of the page.

You can also see your traffic sources from the metrics dashboard.
